We all know the stereotypes about Russia and russians, about their political views, their caviar and their vodka. Especially about their vodka. The life of the average Ivan evolves around the bottle of vodka (as the movie comically depicts).
Don't expect to see much fishing in this movie, there are only two-three short scenes where they actually are fishing. Expect to see comic situations powered by vodka. Lots of it.
I liked the General's character (played very well by Aleksey Buldakov), who was a distinctive note in the scenery, and I loved the Finnish landscape.
