Hour of the Pig(1993)

Remember the Middle Ages? The Inquisition? The heresy charges? Those where absurd times with absurd institutions and absurd mentalities.
The movie begins with an execution scene, where a man and his donkey(considered collaborator) are waiting their sentence to be put into practice.
This is not the only absurd scene in the movie, being followed by a scene where a pig is brought in the courtroom as culprit, caught after seen leaving a crime scene.
It is advocate's Richard Courtois(played by Colin Firth) duty to bring light in this case and to bring some reasoning in the small french town where the action happens.
It is an interesting film with great english actors like Ian Holm, Donald Pleasence, Nicol Williamson.
